I admit it. I watch my neighbors. A lot.
The neighbors out the kitchen window mostly - because that is where I spend a huge amount of my time each day. Puttering around the kitchen. With our lack of curtains and blinds (oh so moderne) we have a sweeping view of the goings on in our 'hood.
And I learn things too. Like the following: Since we moved in, neighbors across the street have had 2 cars parked in the driveway. One was operable, the other van seemed immobile. Lo and behold, this past weekend there was a rearranging of the vehicles! Mama#2 was unloading items from the van. It seems that the old van was really stacked full of stuff. Now why didn't we think of that for all of our carp! Buying an old van and parking it out next to the port of john would have been waaay cheaper than the storage unit.

Summer reruns
It's unbearably hot here. And I say this from the comfort of my air conditioned nest. I can look outside and see the grass withered and brown and think even the bugs must be dead. The trees aren't turning colors with the first nips of fall, they are giving up that they'll ever see a nip of anything under 100 again. My fabulous alarm clock that tells me the temp? Still telling me that it's over 90 at 10 pm.
It's so hot that we are unmotivated. Seriously unmotivated. We have plans to reorganize the laundry room this weekend - make way for stuff. Get ready for the company that is coming. S is instead downstairs watching TELEVISION WITH THE CHILDREN. (you have to know us to know that TV with the kids rarely happens in our house. THAT'S how unmotivated we are.) I should also add that he's watching GOLF. Enough said.
sigh.
I wish there was a way that our camera could just automatically upload to the computer just by being near the computer. That would really help me out. The camera is always sitting next to the computer. Waiting for its contents to be shared. That's why I'm posting the old pics. It's like a clips show on TV. A "best of" sort of thing. reruns. in no particular order.

Me & J last Fall

Our tree in Vancouver at night

S & J sacked out. I could really run an entire series of these...

N & J last year. Flopped out. This is my favorite onesie of J's. I won it in a silent auction. Things almost got ugly with another mom. I had my big ol' belly to help me guilt her out of bidding again at the last minute.

N (if you can believe it) gettin' clean the old fashioned way.

Kitsilano pool one early morning in Vancouver. The downtown skyline is in the background, shrouded by mountains.

Sinda! Nursing! Hazel!

And an all-time favorite. N. On the very day he was born.

Paul McCartney, Chickenbrain & More
If I were Paul McCartney and had a song running through my head, what are the chances that it would be a Beatle song?
So can you chickenbrain someone over the internet? [chickenbraining - planting a song in somebody's head merely by humming it near them] If so, I would happily share the "good day sunshine. bum-bum-bum. good day sunshine...." running through my head. I think I've been running through a nice list of Beatles songs since Sir Paul's 64th birthday. And I didn't even go to the Drafthouse sing-a-long for it. Maybe I should go to this. Clear my musical genres right out.
On a different note, it looks like J has something on his mind too.

My Totally New Do!

On my hunt for a new stylist - I think I have found a keeper. Well see how she lasts over my high-needs long haul. She at least managed to address my desire for long hair to tuck behind my ears and short hair in general. It's oh soo glam. see how glam I am? Thanks to Lisa for the uber cool shot of us and me in the sunnies that are bigger than my head.
