Best Sci-Fi movie since Blade Runner?
District 9.
Before that? Of course, Night of the Living Dead.
Good science fiction isn't about aliens/weird stuff (which does have its place and is good fun - Men In Black being a good example here.) But good science fiction is created to show us more about ourselves.
District 9 was not what I was expecting. But I'm glad it wasn't, it was much better.

We liked it, too. Lisa, its not scary! There is action, some suspense, but no terror. It was the 3rd movie we got to try out our new TV/Bluray player. It did not disappoint. The Star Trek prequel was similarly good.
