Smith & I enjoyed a "date" with N this weekend. Just the three of us went to enjoy the Austin Ballet version of
The Nutcracker. Seeing this is one of my happy memories from when I was little. No matter the scale of the production, it always gets me a little giddy, a little in the mood for Christmas.
After the performance we walked around a bit and I remarked that ballet and figure skating are two things in life where the male's role is essentially to make the girl look good.
I asked N what his favorite part was. He pipes up quickly and says: "the dancing."

I have been wanting to take Anna, especially this year since we have a Nutcracker book we've been reading. The problem is there is no extra TIME during the holidays for fun stuff like this! Good for you for going.
